Metropolis Azzurro…
On Friday, April 1, the Metropolis Azzurro part of the Blue Metropolis
Montreal International Literary Festival WILL take place in Montreal from
March 30th to April 3rd at the Hyatt Regency hotel.... allow yourself to be
swept away by Italian charm!
At 17h00, "Word and Image" (in French, English, and Italian) will explore
the topic of Italian-Canadian artists inspired by a poem, and poets inspired
by a work of art. With poetry and artwork by Elettra Bedon, Mary di Michele,
Joseph Pivato, Carmine Starnino.
At 18h30, "Dialogo: Contrasting Voices in Italian-Canadian Writing" (in
French, English, and Italian) will explore the future of "ethnic" writing.
Featuring Antonio D’Alfonso, Carole David, Steve Galluccio and Connie Guzzo
McParland.
Sweet Lemons: Writings with a Sicilian Accent will be launched at 20h00 with
Michele Alfano, Giovanni Costa, Gil Fagiani, Venera Fazio, Philippe Poloni.
To top off the evening, at 21h00, the exciting Italian novelist Silvia
Ballestra will read from her work (in French and Italian). A reception will
