In 1964, Jean Vanier founded
the first l'Arche community welcoming adults with a
developmental disability at Trosly-Breuil in France. Today, l'Arche
has over 100 communities throughout the world which join together to
form the International Federation of l'Arche. THE MISSION OF
L'ARCHE-MONTREAL is to create homes where faithful relationships based
on forgiveness and celebration is nurtured. To reveal the unique value
and vocation of each person. To
influence society by choosing to live relationships in community as a
sign of hope and love. IN A DIVIDED WORLD, L’ARCHE
WANTS TO BE A SIGN OF HOPE.ITS COMMUNITIES, FOUNDED ON COVENANT
RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PEOPLE OF DIFFERING INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY,
SOCIAL ORIGIN, RELIGION, AND CULTURE, SEEK TO BE A SIGN OF UNITY,
FAITHFULNESS AND RECONCILIATION. To this end, Mr. Angelo Anfossi, a
well-respected member of the Italian community and the Honorary
President of the Campaign is organizing a fund raising activity for L’Arche
Montreal which will be held from May 6, 2001 to May 20, 2001. This
campaign Anfossi says is being held under the Honorary Patronage of
the Mayor of Montreal, Mr. Pierre Bourque. There will be a raffle and the winners will be announced during a
banquet will be held on May 20, 2001. For further Information Call
