ITALIAN C.C. More than 200 guests, attended the 2003 annual Gala held by the Italian Chamber of Commerce, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel November 21^st, 2003 The Chamber selected the Italian city of Lecce as the central theme of this prestigious Ball. A series of delectable gourmet dishes were served typical of this city, reputed for its diversity of gourmet preserves and wines. Specialty vegetable entrées and a scented potage, Minestra alla Salentina were a preamble to a sumptuous feast. Traditional barley pasta innovate popular dining, Riccioli di orzo, was served followed by baked lamb and side dishes. The meal was crowned with Torte pasticciotto and refined almond pastries for desert. Not to mention the variety of exquisite wines, typical of this geographical region to delight palates all evening.
