Prime Minister Stephan Harper, before the elections, met members of the
Italian community, especially former Conservative Mr. Vincent Della Noce.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued the following statement on the
occasion of the opening of the XXth Olympic Winter Games: "On behalf of
all Canadians, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Canadian
athletes and their coaches the very best during their upcoming
competitions. Canadians recognize and admire the years of effort and
dedication you have put into preparing for these Games and we salute
