La Chambre de Commerce de Saint Leonard honored Mr. Di Battista "The Personality of the year" at the last dinner meeting held on Wednesday April 4, 2001. The event took place at Chateau Classique, 6010 des Grandes Prairies east of Lacordaire.The keynote speaker was Mr. Frank Zampino, Mayor of Saint Leonard, and his topic was "The Mega City Syndrome". Mr. Di Battista was recognized for his lifetime involvement and achievement in the banking industry. He said that Raphael Esposito, Notaire, Sergio Tucci, Avocat, Edmond D. Pinsonneault, Avocat, Jean Laroche, Chiropraticien, Alfredo Garbarino, Hommes d’Affaires, Luigi Marandola, Hommes d’Affaires, Yvan A. Macerola, Avocat, Frank Vincelli, Hommes d’Affaires, Tommy D’Errico, Hommes d’Affaires founded the Fiducie Canadienne Italienne in 1975. Di Battista became the principal shareholder in 1985 and sold it to the Caisse Populaire Desjardins in 1997 .
