Santa Cabrini Hospital…The
Hospital that has catered to the Italian Community in Montreal is
celebrating its 50th anniversary of its foundation. Thanks to
the Canadian Italian Business & Professional Association (CIBPA), they
secured a first investment from the Provincial Government at the time, a
donation of 2 million dollars towards the initial construction of the
Santa Cabrini Hospital. After 50 years, it has become the Center for all
immigrants from the four corners of the world. It, of course, has
increased in leaps and bounds since, and is constantly being expanded to
serve the Community. The Agenda for the celebrations is impressive,
primarily; SC became part of Quebec’s health system in 1970. "There are
2500 employees, 233 doctors and many volunteers, 369 beds is the count
plus 103 beds at Foyer Dante, 40,000 people visit the emergency every
year, 10,000 operations." says Mr. Emilio B. Imbriglio, President of the
Hospital Board of Directors. |
