Easter is most often associated with a great celebration of love and joy! That is exactly what the Family Resources Center of Quebec (F.R.C.Q.), a charitable organization founded in 1992 to come to the aid of children, adolescents, parents, grandparents and other individuals experiencing family related difficulties often related to the break up of the family, provided for over 300 underprivileged children from the Greater Montreal region. As it has done for the past 17 years, the F.R.C.Q. held a marvelous Easter Party on Tuesday, April 16, 2003 at the Plaza Volare of the Sheraton Four Points Dorval Hotel. The 300 and more children aged 4 to 6 from the Dante, Notre-Dame de Lourdes and Victor Rousselot schools finally got the opportunity to enjoy Easter as more fortunate children do. They were greeted by costumed volunteers and friendly mascots such as Caillou, Buzz from Toy Story, Zeddy from Zellers, the Nesquik rabbit from Nestlé and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Safety Bear, among others. The children also participated in various arts and crafts workshops, hopped around in Proludik inflatable games, danced and sang along with the " Clowns du Carrousel" and the In Motion group. The Easter egg hunt and drawing contest were also much appreciated by the kids! Most importantly, the children satisfied their appetite as they proceeded to the wholesome buffet prepared in collaboration with Mr. Vince Morena and Mr. Angelo Neri from Plaza Volare. Each child returned home with a big smile, many happy memories, delicious Easter chocolates and renewed hope in the future.
