Met Merchandising Concept and J.P. Metal is formed to create a marketing and manufacturing partnership servicing the U.S. retail industry with store fixtures. In 1985 to meet the ever increasing demand of its customer base, J.P. Metal adds a new division specializing in powder coating; METOPOXY. In 1987 another finishing division is created, specializing in the application of liquid paint. This division is called Electro-Tec. In 1989 with the emergence of store fixtures and displays as the principal focus of J.P. Metal, a critical decision is made to discontinue production of the furniture line. This decision allows the company to concentrate on the development of new store fixtures and displays, while increasing production and quality. In 1990 and beyond A Canadian based company; J.P. Metal America Inc. employs 600 employees, occupies over 1.1 million square feet of manufacturing, warehousing and assembly and is proudly recognized as one of the largest manufactures of wood and metal store fixtures in North America. Servicing department stores, apparel manufacturers, specialty stores and mass merchandising.
