Blood clinic…A blood donor clinic was held on May 5, 2004 in St. Leonard and the spokesperson for the event was Patricia Durante. When she became pregnant with her first daughter she subsequently was diagnosed with Leukemia. At the birth of her baby girl, she had bone marrow transplant using her Umbilical cord that saved her life and is now free of disease, thanks to this new procedure. She did however, during her pregnancy receive 213 blood transfusions . Patricia is from the Buffet Durante family.
